My first camera

I recently bought my first camera—a 1966 Minolta Hi-Matic 7S, with a fixed Rokkor PF 45mm f/1.8 lens. I plan to use this camera to experiment with film photography techniques, reviving some of the creative style of old-school photography that is becoming increasingly lost in our digital age.

Vintage film photography always provokes an underappreciated anemoic sentiment for me, like antiquated anecdotes reduced to unwanted hand-me-downs; a medium taken for granted in the modern world of photoshop and digitisation.

I am encumbered by ideas and visual concepts that until now, I have only dreamt of bringing to life, though through photography as an outlet, I hope to express the beauty I see and imagine, blending natural beauty with creative fantasy.

As I attempt to keep a regular posting schedule, I have planned a few artistic endeavours that will be displayed in this blog, such as displaying fantastical miniature worlds, storytelling through mixed media, showcasing multiculturalism, and creating a satirical book that facetiously criticises a particular aspect of modern society that will remain undisclosed for the time being.

These creative pursuits will guide me as I develop my photography skill-set and bring my imagined ideas into form, and hopefully I can keep this blog half interesting while I find my artistic niche.
